Meet John Paul

Welcome and thank you for visiting my little corner of the website. My name is John Crockett and I have been practicing counseling since 2019. I have two Master degrees from Grand Canyon University: Professional Counseling and Psychology with an Industrial/Organizational emphasis. I am currently working on my non licensure Ph.D. Counseling Psychology degree from National University.

My neuroscience interventions have been associated with sustainable brain change, including those that can alter brain pathways and networks to help treat trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction. I support how commonly applied treatments such as CBT, Hypnosis, Eye Movement Integration (EMI), Neuro Linguistic Therapy (NLPt), Meditation, Breathing techniques and other forms of mindfulness can foster healthy brain change.

I hope to provide a roadmap for treating developmental/complex trauma in both adult survivors of childhood trauma. Skills for helping clients recover from trauma and build resilience will also be emphasized in my interventions. Brain-informed clinical implications and practical techniques will also be introduced. The interventions that I practice subtly and unconsciously change the client’s behavior patterns so that they can react to present experiences based on present conditions and not react to situations that present themselves today based on emotions linked to previous life events. The technique relies on reprogramming a person’s response and behavior mechanism in such a way to bring about a healthier sense of well-being.

“Each person is a unique individual. Hence, psychotherapy should be formulated to meet the uniqueness of the individual's needs, rather than tailoring the person to fit the Procrustean bed of a hypothetical theory of human behavior.”
